How to read this site
Established fact
What is true now. Every fact has a numbered source you can check, and we say so when a figure is old or comes to us second-hand. If we can't source it, it isn't on the site.
Vision
What we want to build. Ambitious and specific, and never presented as fact. Each vision comes with proposed first moves small enough to start this year.
Why now
The people who will live in this vision are already being born.

UN World Population Prospects 2024 estimate, via PopulationPyramid.net.
Africa's median age is about 19, and 28% of the world's people under 25 live in Africa.[2]
Pew Research Center analysis of the UN's World Population Prospects.
By 2100, the UN's medium projection has Africa home to 46% of the world's young people.[2]
